Shelter

We fixed up the side of the house, and added a tent for the car.

Instant garage!

Bye-bye stump

It took 2 days to get the stump out.

It must have weighed about 500 lbs!
After I pulled it with Dad's truck, I couldn't budge it.
I had to pick at for a while before I could roll it to the drive way.

They neighbors seems to have been having fun watching me.
They came over and congratulated me when I got the stump out.

Now it's like the tree was never there!

Camping with our New Car

Sorry, this posting has been delayed a little.
We have a new car!
We sold the van, and got an SUV.
(Actually, we did it in backwards-we got the SUV, then sold the van.)

Here is our '05 Honda Pilot up at Fairview Lake for the 4th of July.

It is so pretty up there.
We go every year with Emily's Family.
We were camping here the weekend that I proposed to Emily!

This is the Horsey Tree.
Emily's family took pictures on it when they were little.
Our boys barely fit.

Timber!

See the tree on the right?
Well if you come and visit us, you won't any more!

My dad cam over and helped us cut it down and cut it up.
I climbed up the tree and tied a rope to the trunk about 2/3 up.
We then tied the other end to my dad's truck.
He cut a wedge on the side facing the way we wanted it to fall,
then cut it from the back as I pulled with the truck.
Emily and the boys watched with the neighbors at a safe distance behind the tree.

It fell perfectly!

We'll take a better after picture when we've finished clearing it out. We didn't think about pictures until we were done. It would have been fun to have a better before picture (the one above is from Google Maps Street View), and video of it falling.

Millions of Peaches...

This bucket is full of young peaches that have fallen off of our trees due to the wind or our boys shaking the trees. There are still quite a few peaches on our tree . I can't imagine how many we would have had if they had all grown to maturity. Hopefully the thinning will help ensure bigger peaches!
