Done with Moxtek For the Year

Today was my last day of work at Moxtek for the rest of the year. I am taking vacation until Jan. 2. It was also my last day in the Optics division. I am transferring to the X-ray division and getting promoted to manage the production of our X-ray Tubes. I'll miss the Optics division - I have worked there for over 5 years, but it will be nice to get some different manufacturing experience. I have done a little work with them in the past when I was making training videos, so it won't be all new stuff. I will have a lot to learn though, and from what I hear, there are some challenges that are already waiting for me to deal with. The tubes are about the size of the tip of my pinkie finger, and are used in handheld x-ray fluorescence devices about the size of a hand drill that are use to analyze the chemical make up of things (some people relate them to triquarters from star-trek). We just make the parts - we don't sell the "triquarters".

Let it Snow!

This is what are yard looks like now. Two weeks ago was our first real snow. It was so cold that the battery on our van died, and when we tried to push it out of the driveway to jump start it, we found that the tires had frozen to the driveway! Later that day the snow melted and we were able to get the van started.

Fall Fun

Our front yard has a big red maple tree. Needless to say, the boys had a blast playing in the leaves this fall.

Flexible!

After Noah discovered his toes, he doesn't always need a pacifier.

Pretty Woman

This is a fun picture we took up by Bridal Veil Falls in the fall.

Taking after Pa.

Isaak does not like to take naps. He fights it all he can, but sometimes it catches up to him. This scene looks a lot like some of the pictures of Rex when he was a boy - falling asleep in odd places.

Western Pearl Button

Tyler and Isaak were wearing western pearl button shirts, and it reminded us of the picture of Glenn and I when we were young. We tried to recreate it here. (The part of Sweetie the dog was played by Noah!)

Dog Pile!

In a house full of boys, one of the common activities is wrestling!

Let the fun begin!

We've enjoyed the blogs of family members so much that we decided to try our own.
