Done with Moxtek For the Year

Today was my last day of work at Moxtek for the rest of the year. I am taking vacation until Jan. 2. It was also my last day in the Optics division. I am transferring to the X-ray division and getting promoted to manage the production of our X-ray Tubes. I'll miss the Optics division - I have worked there for over 5 years, but it will be nice to get some different manufacturing experience. I have done a little work with them in the past when I was making training videos, so it won't be all new stuff. I will have a lot to learn though, and from what I hear, there are some challenges that are already waiting for me to deal with. The tubes are about the size of the tip of my pinkie finger, and are used in handheld x-ray fluorescence devices about the size of a hand drill that are use to analyze the chemical make up of things (some people relate them to triquarters from star-trek). We just make the parts - we don't sell the "triquarters".
